Cube, Market & Item Economy Guide

A complete guide to alchemy, Cube level efficiency, market breakpoints, crafting priorities, item evaluation, and material management.

Goal

Use this guide before you start recycling, crafting, socketing, or buying gear. The Cube and market can accelerate progression, but they can also waste resources if you treat every drop the same.

Early Alchemy

Alchemy is one of the strongest early systems because it turns unwanted gear into gold. Gold then buys Rune Tree upgrades, market replacements, and more account tempo.

Early alchemy rules:

Alchemy weak equipment that has no current role.
Lock or move valuable gear before using auto-fill.
Do not alchemy useful class gear just because it is not equipped right now.
Save special materials until you understand their later value.
Use alchemy when it creates direct tempo; do not craft randomly just to spend materials.

Cheap Market Alchemy

A useful early tactic is buying very cheap high-level Legendary items from the market and using them as alchemy fuel. These can be useful even if your heroes cannot equip them.

Good candidates:

Very cheap Legendary items around level 30-40.
Off-class weapons that are not useful to you.
Items priced low enough that the alchemy value is the real goal.

Practical rule: only do this when the item is truly cheap. Around 5 cents should be treated as a soft ceiling for pure alchemy fuel. If the price is higher, it needs a real gear or resale reason.

Cube Level Efficiency

Do not assume the highest item level always gives the best Cube progress. Efficient Cube leveling comes from feeding items close to the Cube's current useful range.

Check the Synthesis screen and look at the highest item level range you can currently synthesize. That range tells you the item levels your Cube wants.

Example:

Synthesis range shows 20-40 -> farm or alchemy items around that band
Synthesis range shows 30-50 -> level 30-50 items become useful Cube fuel

The ideal state is to keep Cube level close to hero level. Then your normal farming creates hero EXP, gold, and Cube fuel at the same time.

Market Gear Breakpoints

The market route is not about perfect items. It is about cheap items that carry you into the next bracket.

BreakpointWhat to do
Level 10Buy only cheap fixes if your drops are bad.
Level 20Replace starter weapons or armor that are clearly behind.
Level 30Check for cheap Legendary upgrades and alchemy fuel.
Level 40Replace old gear that survived too long.
Level 50Start caring more about defensive rolls and role-specific stats.
Level 65Prepare for resistance, sustain, and targeted farm routes.

Before buying, evaluate:

Level requirement.
Class or role fit.
Actual stat value.
Price.
Whether it can be resold.
Whether a dropped item already solves the same slot.

What To Keep

Keep gear when it matches at least one of these conditions:

It directly improves your current hero.
It has a strong stat for a planned build.
It fills a hard-to-find slot.
It has market value.
It is in the item level range your Cube currently needs.
It may be useful for another active class soon.

What To Alchemy

Alchemy gear when:

It is off-class and low value.
It has weak or mismatched stats.
It is too cheap to justify market listing.
It is in the Cube range you need and not useful as gear.
Keeping it would only fill inventory.

Crafting Priority

Do not default to crafting main weapons or armor first. Those are often easier to find from chests or the market.

Better crafting candidates are usually:

Accessories.
Off-hands.
Sub-weapons.
Build-specific pieces that are hard to buy cheaply.

Craft a main weapon only when your current weapon is badly outdated and the market has no reasonable option.

Material Management

Do not sell or alchemy every crafting material for quick gold. Some materials become important later, and the required materials change by Cube and item level range.

Material rules:

Use normal gear as alchemy fuel.
Save decoration and engraving materials until you know their value.
Keep materials for hard-to-buy items.
Avoid burning rare materials just to solve a short-term gold problem.

If an item is crafted using market-bought components, it can be trade-restricted before resale. This matters for market cycling.

Decoration And Engraving

Treat socketing and engraving as commitments. Use them on gear that will stay equipped for a while.

Good targets:

Strong high-rarity gear with useful rolls.
Weapons or armor used by your main team.
Items that solve a clear wall, such as resistance, damage, or sustain.

Bad targets:

Temporary leveling gear.
Items likely to be replaced at the next breakpoint.
Gear with mismatched stats.

Checklist

Valuable items are locked before alchemy.
Alchemy fuel is weak gear, not useful build pieces.
Cube fuel is close to the current Cube useful range.
Gear is checked around level 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 65.
Crafting focuses on hard-to-buy slots.
Decoration and engraving are saved for gear that will last.
