Rune Tree Progression & Hero Slots Guide

A full priority route for hero slots, early account economy, chest upgrades, offline rewards, and when to buy combat nodes.

Goal

Use this guide when deciding where gold should go in the Rune Tree. The early goal is not to buy every small combat node. The early goal is to unlock party size and account economy.

Priority Summary

PriorityUpgrade typeWhy it matters
1Hero slotsMore heroes are the strongest early multiplier.
2EXP upgradesFaster levels unlock more skill points and higher gear bands.
3Gold upgradesMore gold accelerates the next rune purchases.
4Chest drop chanceMore items means more gear, materials, and alchemy fuel.
5Automation and offline rewardsSmoother long sessions and better passive progress.
6Combat nodesBuy when survival or damage becomes the actual blocker.

Unlock The Rune Tree

The Rune Tree unlocks once any hero reaches level 3. From that point on, rune upgrades act as permanent account progress and help every team.

Your early spending should point toward hero slots first. Party size improves damage, survival, clear consistency, and shared hero leveling.

Hero Slot Priority

Second Hero Slot

The second slot should be your first immediate target. It lets Priest support Ranger or lets a frontline start absorbing pressure.

Common early path:

Unlock the first combat/economy entry nodes needed by the tree.
Take the first growth node required by the path.
Buy the first command/slot node.

Third Hero Slot

The third slot is a bigger milestone and should be planned around. Once you have Knight + Priest + Ranger together, the account becomes much easier to farm.

Do not delay the third slot by overbuying small low-impact nodes. A complete team normally gives more value than scattered minor bonuses.

Economy Cycle

After the key slots are online, rotate economy upgrades instead of tunneling one stat forever.

Upgrade EXP until expensive -> move to Gold -> move to Chest Chance -> return to EXP and Gold after farming improves

This works because each upgrade improves the value of the next:

EXP upgrades create higher-level heroes.
Higher-level heroes farm better stages.
Better stages create more gold and drops.
Gold buys more runes.
More chest chance creates more gear and alchemy fuel.

Useful Early Rune Categories

EXP Gain

Take EXP when hero levels are your bottleneck. More levels mean more skill points and faster access to gear breakpoints.

Gold Per Kill

Gold upgrades matter whenever your next rune or Cube goal is being delayed by currency.

Chest Drop Chance

Chest chance becomes stronger when your farm stage is stable and you can leave the game running. More chests create more equipment, alchemy fuel, crafting materials, and market chances.

Auto Chest Opening

Automation is useful, but do not let it conflict with chest strategies where you intentionally keep Common Chests capped for boss chest farming.

Offline EXP And Offline Gold

Offline rewards are good support upgrades. They do not replace online chest farming, but they keep the account moving when the game is closed.

Inventory And Stash

Storage upgrades are worth buying when farming sessions are being interrupted by full inventory. More storage can directly improve farming uptime.

When To Buy Combat Nodes

Combat nodes are not bad; they are just not always the best early investment.

Buy combat nodes when the problem is specific:

ProblemRune direction
Knight dies instantlyDefensive stats, HP, resistance, block, damage reduction.
Fights take too longDamage nodes for your carry.
Team slowly loses HPHealing, cooldown, sustain support.
Stage has elemental pressureRelevant resistance or all-resistance support.

If your team already farms safely, economy often gives better long-term value than another small combat increase.

Spending Rules

Buy party size before luxury upgrades.
Buy economy before niche combat bonuses when farming is already stable.
Buy storage when full inventory is cutting sessions short.
Buy combat only when damage or survival is the actual wall.
Do not overinvest in Act Boss upgrades unless they open a needed path.
