Caged Grisha is one of 46 bosses in Mortal Shell 2, fought in Mornefrost Grave. Beating it drops Grisha Remnant, Fusillade Stone, Coin and Gloom.

Our take

The frost one of the catalog's five Grishas, with Frost riding on its hits and the Fusillade Stone in its pocket — the stone that turns a ranged build's Resolve into a flurry. It waited in an undocumented dungeon until upstream finally wrote the Mornefrost Grave up in late August.

How to beat Caged Grisha

Getting there

Inside the Mornefrost Grave, the dungeon behind the Winterglass Lake beacon in the Conquered Temple — one of the pages upstream only wrote in late August, which is why this fight went unrecorded for so long. The beacon is the way in, and the boss is what the dungeon is holding.

It drops the Fusillade Stone, the sidearm Ability stone that turns 80 Resolve into a flurry of consecutive shots, along with a Grisha Remnant. If a ranged build is where your run is heading, this detour is carrying one of its engines.

How the fight is shaped

Our catalog holds five Grishas, and this is the frost one: the same huge, mobile frame the world keeps throwing at you, with a frozen claw and Frost riding on its hits. Nothing about the base animal changes — it still spends the fight leaping across the arena and closing distance in bounds.

Frost is a stack counter, and that is the actual threat here. The hits are survivable; the freeze at the top of the stack, taken in front of something this size, is usually the health bar. Play the fight as damage management on a timer you can see filling.

What to actually do

  1. Bring the Martyr's AshIt cures Frost outright and grants +50% Frost mitigation for thirty seconds, which is the difference between a stack counter you manage and one that manages you. Slot it before the beacon, not after the first freeze.
  2. Shoot it — Grishas hate the ranged gameOne account calls ranged attacks very effective against the whole family, and the shape of the fight says why: a boss that spends half its time repositioning gives melee nothing to hit and a sidearm a target the entire way. The stone it drops is practically a hint.
  3. Swing on landings, never on chasesIt moves in leaps, and chasing a Grisha across an arena is donating stamina. Let each jump finish, take the window where it lands, and reset to the middle — the fight is a series of landings, not a pursuit.
